Cathy Solano RSM (Melbourne) recently visited Western Australia as part of her role as Mercy Works Inc.’s Community Education Officer. Cathy reports on some of the generous fundraising activities undertaken by the West Perth and Perth sisters, mercy associates and other friends in support of Mercy Works Inc.

There was a very energetic and engaging atmosphere at the Mercy Justice Conference held in Queanbeyan, November 6-8, 2009. The conference, an initiative of the Institute of Sisters of Mercy of Australia, was attended by over 260 delegates from across Australia. Carmel Heagerty RSM, Institute Justice Co-ordinator, reports.

Professor Tim Flannery, keynote speaker at the recent Mercy Justice Conference, alerted delegates about the "Vote Earth" campaign. Casting a vote ensures political leaders know and respond to the voice of the people during the UN climate talks in Copenhagen commencing on December 14.

Marymount Mercy Centre (which runs the "New Life" and "Journeying with New Members" programmes) is currently looking for copies of The Art of Passingover: An Invitation to Living Creatively by Francis Dorff (O.Praem) which is now out of print.
